80 year old starts a new life on an island by building home on Coochie

Welcome to your Easter long weekend! Your colour copy of our April issue is now available for you to view and download Coochie Island News April 2021 Online.

We’re super excited about this issue – our front page has a story by a newbie to our island who moved here to start his new life at 80 years of age! He has a wonderful perspective on this decision and writes beautifully.

Thank you to our sponsor Bay Island Transport for your magnificent longstanding support of this newspaper. We love your community spirit! Thank you to each of our advertisers for your community focus. We grow businesses and we love having you on board.  Huge thanks to Craig Carter (Coochie Contractors), Matt Bufalino (Bufalino Builders) and Steven Shelley, Shelley Contracting, for booking 12 months of ads! Awesome support lads! Thanks to each and every advertiser in CIN, and the businesses allowing us to distribute CIN on their premises. We love you!

All your regular favourites are back – watch out for Doug Cope On the Hammock, and the two Coochie blokes sharing what their mateship means to them and what they value about each other in our Two of Us column. We have a new writer, Gary Stanley, with tips on excellent mountain biking trails nearby. And, be sure to note details of our island’s Anzac Day ceremony – it’s beautifully moving, professionally produced and a privilege to stand with our island veterans to honour their service and bear witness to the horrors of war.

Please support the sponsor and advertisers who make publication possible. We are very grateful to the outlets who stock CIN and our talented contributors and you, dear reader. BIG THANKS to subeditor Helen Symes for her fast professional work.

Thanks for supporting Coochie Island News. It means a lot to this community.

Have a lovely weekend!
